Beware of the dashing garçon! I saw this – probably unofficial – traffic sign in Hallstatt next to the famous Hallstatt Lake. It makes people aware of waitstaff crossing the street. A local restaurant and its open-air seating area occupy different sides of the lane.
Hallstatt Culture
The town of Hallstatt forms the name giver of the Hallstatt culture. Therefore, this place in Upper Austria is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll find more info about this culture at the local Hallstatt Museum, a site next to a replica of a wooden staircase dating back to the Bronze Age.
