Today I tried the Premium Class on the Austrian Railjet. I was so bold to start my train year by choosing seat N° 13.
The seat was very comfortable. The table was just in the best position to work with a notebook.
The price (1st class ticket plus 25 Euro) included free meals and drinks. The snacks were delicious. E.g. I had some pieces of beef with red cabbage.
Though both seat and meal were fine, I wouldn’t pay for this class again. I need a larger table where I can place my notebook and several books. If you love to sit comfortably and slurp free drinks all the time, it might be a good offer for you.
Update on April 1st, 2012
In the meantime, the Austrian Railways (ÖBB) has cancelled this service. Now you get the same seat plus a free drink for 15 Euro.
