There are so many photos showing the Schweizertor (Swiss Gate) of the Viennese Hofburg but have you ever seen photos of the frescoes inside the gate? Have a look at this set of photos presenting the frescoes at the ceiling of the Schweizertor.

One of my most favourite dishes in Styria: An egg dish with Styrian pumpkin seed oil. What dishes with Styrian pumpkin seed oil have you already tried?

On my tour through Styria I came across a tool named ‘Ölkuh‘ (literally translated: Oil cow). This is a traditional tool to produce pumpkin seed oil in my home region Styria.

Sometimes I am having a picnic at the Burggarten of Graz. This is a park next to the former castle of Graz. It happens to be a beautiful dog posed right in front of my camera this time. Isn’t it a cutie?

Fun idea: Near the geographic centre of my city a model of a peach stone indicates the city centre. This is a pun as in the German language we use for the centre of a city and the stone of a fruit the same term: ‘Kern’. The sculpture was designed by the artists Anne and Peter Knoll.

An impressive place in Prägraten am Großvenediger is this mill called Islitzer Mühle. The mill driven by the power of the Islitzbach is still working and open for public.

Today I am invited by 50plus Hotels Österreich to be a guest of the Hotel Ortnerhof in Prägraten am Großvenediger. I look forward to learn something about western-style riding and walking along the beautiful Virgen Valley (Virgental).

A steam locomotive known as Mh.3 seen in Krimml. The locomotive was built in 1906 and is still used for classic train trips organized by Club 399 along the railroad of the Pinzgauer Lokalbahn.

While heading to Gerlos by car I came across this steam train using the railroad of the Pinzgauer Lokalbahn. The train maintained by Club 399 was drawn by a steam locomotive named Mh.3 built in 1906.

On my tour through the Styrian place Haus I came across this high wheeler. Well, honestly speaking riding this kind of bike seems pretty uncomfortable to me. Have you ever tried such a high wheel? And do you know the term penny-farthing for this kind of bike?
