The name of the Wintermarkt (Winter market) doesn’t claim to be a Christmas market. However, I paid a visit on my Christmas market tour through Vienna as the location is unique. The market is located at the entrance area of the Wurstelprater, a fun mile from Vienna.
My impression: It’s really a fun mile, but the offered goods are the same as at other Christmas markets in Vienna. Gluhwein, sausages, some artwork and toys. The atmosphere is bright as the place is dominated by the lights from the nearby wax museum of Madame Tussauds and the gigantic steel wheel called Wiener Riesenrad.
